I’m always curious to find out what people can’t live without, especially in the beauty department. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, especially when I’m constantly packing and repacking. You really only need a few essential things. Here’s my list:
I Need a Nap
19 AprTo all of my loyal readers out there, apologies for my inconsistent posting. Life has been insane – insanely happy and filled with travel, friends and family – but insane nonetheless. I am glowing personally and promise to share my happy adventures with all of you on a more frequent basis!
For those of you who may feel like I do these days, naps are an essential part of life (they always have been, it’s a Worster thing). Recently, I found myself in New York City utterly exhausted. I googled “nap NYC” and what did I find? Yelo Spa on 57th Street. Less than an hour later I found myself in a pod fast asleep for forty minutes.
When I arrived at Yelo Spa they let me select calming music and aromatherapy of my choice, and then led me to my pod with a zero-gravity chair and blanket. The chair allowed my heart to rise above my heart, which enabled me to fall asleep faster. HEAVEN. When my forty minutes ended, the light rose like the sun to wake me up. I’ve never felt more refreshed.
If you need a break, check it out for yourself! Best $ I’ve spent in a long time!
Virtual Vacation: Laucala, Fiji
20 MarHave you seen the recent issue of Departures? My jaw dropped when I saw the images of Laucala, a new private resort in Fiji. Holy cow.
What happened? Where did you go?
15 FebThat’s what people keep asking me. My sincerest apologies for the lack of posts in the past few months. What can I say? I’m a little carried away with Pinterest and Tumblr! I will occasionally post on this site, but for everyday ideas, inspiration and things I’m swooning over, visit my Pinterest or Tumblr sites!
In the Spirit of Valentine’s Day…
1 FebThese adorable sticker templates are such a perfect treat for Valentine’s Day. Thank you, Twig & Thistle. Such a clever idea!
Managing the Insanity
27 JanI don’t know about you, but January is kicking my butt. Work is crazy, we’ve had three feet of snow AND I’m moving. Needless to say, apologies for being MIA.
A few weeks ago (in the midst of the insanity) I read a great post from GOOP, Gwneyth Paltrow’s blog, called A Day in the Life. It’s an hour-by-hour recount of two professional women and their days. It is essentially their thoughts and tips on work/life balance. I found it incredibly insightful. I’ve already starting putting some of their ideas to use in my own life – hopefully you’ll find it helpful too.
A Fabulous Night at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams
4 JanOn Wednesday, December 15th my friends at the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams store in Greenwich invited me to an event they co-hosted with Lonny Magazine. (To say I was excited would be a TOTAL understatement. It was a dream event – I LOVE MG and Lonny!) And, in all the craziness of the holiday season I never got a chance to post my photos from the FABULOUS evening.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Mitchell Gold, as well as Lonny co-founders, Michelle Adams and Patrick Cline. And for a $50 donation to the local United Way chapter, Lonny contributor and watercolor extraordinaire, Cailtin McGauley, painted my portrait. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about the entire evening and everyone I met. Still swooning!
Happy New Year!
2 JanIt is hard to say goodbye to 2010. It’s been a great year – one full of friends, family, travel and adventures. As I look back on my resolutions from this time last year I am pleasantly surprised by how many I accomplished. Fingers crossed for another great year ahead – I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store for me!
