Thanks to the rain (I swear the seasons are shifting!), it still doesn’t feel like summer here. I can’t believe it’s almost July! The one thing that makes me happy is that we can still enjoy two of my favorite things regardless how miserable it is outside: rhubarb and peonies.
For the past month I’ve kept the house full of peonies – every variety I could find. Last week I found a beautfiul bright pink bunch that changed color throughout the week – totally amazing. They looked fabulous in my turquoise gurgle pot with white snapdragons! (Image above from Country Living.)
I also love this time of year because I can start cooking with rhubarb again – my favorite! Rhubarb crisp, strawberry/rhubarb pie, rhubarb jam… This spring I came across a great recipe in Country Living for little individual rhubarb crisps. So yummy!!
