Domino: The Book of Decorating

A few months ago Domino Magazine editors Deborah Needleman, Sara Ruffin Costello and Dara Caponigro released their first design book, Domino: The Book of Decorating. For anyone interested in home decorating, this book is definitely something to add to your library.

Last night I attended the local book release party at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams hosted by the Greenwich Junior League. Plum Foods served delicious mini caramel apples, miniature cups of hot cocoa with warm chocolate chip cookies, and proseco with raspberries.

For those of you who have not seen the book, here are some of the reasons I’m a fan. First, its divided by room (entry, kitchen, bedroom, etc.) which makes really easy to compartmentalize ideas for your own home. Second, the book is jammed packed with tricks on how to decorate your home in ways that won’t cost you a million dollars. Because seriously, who really has that much money to spend on their house? And last but not least, there is a great mix of different styles – something that will appeal to everyone, and maybe a new things to inspire you to do something you’d never thought you would!

I also have to give a shout-out to Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. I’ve never been in one of their stores before and I was totally impressed. The furniture and accessories were beautiful and very reasonably priced. And, I’m particularly a fan of the fact that they are “green”. As they say, “We’ve been eco-friendly since 1989. Not since it became fashionable.”

OK, so go out and buy the book! Amazon has it on sale for $21, and you get a free, year-long subscription to Domino with every book purchase.
